Al Neyadi said that the GCC electricidal

interconnection network that started

in 2009 has contributed to avoiding

hundreds of power cuts in the GCC

countries. These countries have saved

large sums of money through the

rotational electricity reserves system.

He pointed out that the GCC countries

have saved over $2.4 billion from this

project since its completion and full

operation back in 2011. The project is

expected to provide around $30 billion

over the next 23 years according to the

GCC Interconnection Authority Report

2017.

The GCC electrical interconnection

network is one of the most successful

GCC strategic projects that targets

comprehensive

and

integrated

development that serves the interests of

the GCC people.
