Developments of Energy Resourrces
On the global scale, more than 77 new discoveries were found,
45 of oil and 32 of gas. The size of the discoveries ranged between
small, medium, large and giant. Some of the large discoveries are
highlighted herein below:
In
Tanzania
, BG and Ophir Energy have declared their fourth
gas discovery offshore southern Tanzania for a total mean gross
recoverable resource of nearly 7 trillion cubic feet of gas in the four
wells. Preliminary evaluation of results from the fourth discovery
well, “Jodari-1”, indicated a gross recoverable resource of 2.5 to 4.4
trillion cubic feet of gas. The well was drilled in 1,150 m of water 39
km off the coast.
