1. World Developments
World ethylene production capacity in 2011 had rose by 2.5 million
tons/year. This increase, which is lower than one-year addition
recorded for 2010, brought world ethylene production to 141 million
tons/year, or 1.81% higher than the 2010 total of 138.5 million tons/
year. It was due to the addition of 1.2 million tons/year in Saudi
Arabia and 1.3 million tons/year in Venezuela.
