CHAPTER THREE
Arab And World Developments
As for thermal conversion processes, which include both coking
and thermal cracking processes, their total coke production capacity
in 2012 recorded an increase of 20 tons/day, or 0.01% above its level
in 2011. At the end of 2012 it totalled to about 209,150 tons/day,
compared with 209,130 tons/day at the end of 2011. This increase
centred in North America with around 20 tons/day, or 0.01%.

On the other hand, total hydrotreating capacity recorded an
increase of 120,000 b/d, or 0.26 % in 2012 compared with its level
in 2011. It totalled to 45.85 million b/d compared with 45.73 million
